Job Description

HCL Japan is seeking an Automotive Embedded System Validation Engineer to perform connectivity and system-level validation for in-vehicle telematics integration.

Responsibilities:

• Perform connectivity validation for in-vehicle and system-level telematics
• Develop and execute functional, component, and system-level test cases
• Build and leverage simulation models for validation activities
• Conduct HIL rig and vehicle testing for proper integration and functionality
• Prepare detailed validation and issue reports; assist with root cause analysis
• Modify and configure HIL rigs for testing requirements
• Explore and implement test automation improvements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate connectivity, uptime service, fleet management, and cybersecurity capabilities

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in automotive system testing, embedded system validation, and test automation
• Strong understanding of telematics systems and connected car technologies (Wireless-Bluetooth, CarPlay, Wi-Fi, GNSSU)
• Familiarity with automotive protocols (CAN, CAN-FD, Ethernet) and tools (CANoe, Wireshark)
• Experience with Excel-based test cases and test management tools
• Knowledge of backend communication, cybersecurity, Android HMI apps, ASPICE compliance is a plus
• Programming/scripting in CAPL and Python is a plus
• Strong analytical, reporting, and troubleshooting skills
• Cross-functional team collaboration
• Business-level English (TOEIC 700+), Japanese (JLPT N2+)

Working Hours

• Weekdays 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1-hour break)

Compensation

• Annual income: ¥5,500,000 – ¥8,000,000
• Includes social insurance, paid vacation, training, and bonus (details at offer stage)
