Job Description

Join a luxury cruise ship as a bilingual host (Japanese-English) with no housing or food costs. Your responsibilities include:

  • Using Japanese and English to communicate with guests
  • Hosting and managing onboard events for international guests
  • Translating menus, daily programs, and announcements (written and verbal)
  • Supporting other departments, including medical, through translation
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with guests
  • Providing interpretation and escort for international guest tours

Ideal Candidate:

  • Enjoys hosting and planning events
  • Excellent communication skills in Japanese and English
  • Experienced in fast-paced customer service roles
  • Hosting or event planning experience preferred

Requirements

  • Customer-facing work experience
  • Host/ess or event planning experience preferred
  • Fluent in Japanese (JLPT N1 or equivalent)
  • Business-level English (TOEIC 735–860)
  • Ability to translate medical information between English and Japanese
  • Ability to translate documents and host events in both languages
  • Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination recommended

Working Hours

  • 8–10 hours per day, 7 days a week
