Role Summary

We are hiring Japanese Language Instructors to teach beginner to advanced students. Teaching will primarily be in English due to beginner-level learners. You will follow provided syllabi and textbooks but can modify lessons and add original activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct classroom sessions (Mon–Fri, 9:30 am – 2:50 pm or 4:40 pm)
• Administer placement test on first day (1–2 hrs, afternoon)
• Assign grades based on assessment criteria
• Modify lesson content and add original activities as needed
• Optionally conduct cultural activity sessions

Requirements

Required

• Native-level Japanese proficiency
• Master’s degree or higher (for lead instructors)
• Bachelor’s degree or higher (for teaching assistants)
• English communication skills
• Ability to teach in-person

Preferred

• Experience teaching university students

Language Proficiency

• Japanese: Native
• English: Daily conversation (TOEIC 475–730)

Compensation

• ¥170,000 per session (paid at end of course)
• Local transportation expenses reimbursed (paid at end of course)
